Our latest writing project has begun! As a class we are going to write a 30 chapter book made of short stories. Each chapter will be written by a different student (and one by the teacher) with fictional characters developed by classmates. The goal is to have a collection of stories with overlapping characters and a consistent setting. We began creating our setting- Little Rock, Utah, a quiet town with a population of 89 that is home to a creepy, mysterious house. We named the streets and placed some important buildings, including the doctor, the diner, the school, city hall, and the creepy, mysterious house.
Everyone is very excited about this project. We plan to be done on May 9, when we will then share our book. I am working on a way to get the book bound in a sturdy manner so students can have their own copies. If you know of a good book binding way, please let me know!
