This week we have two field trips to attend. We also have another class taught by the Lower Columbia River Estuary Partnership. Last week they came in to teach us about leaf identification. This week we will learn about native trees and plants.
The first field trip is tomorrow, Monday the 16th. Please dress for a day in the cold and rain. We will be loading the buses at 8:45 am, hiking around Rowena Plateau for a couple of hours, eating lunch in Cascade Locks, and returning to Corbett by 2:00 pm. It should be a great field trip- especially for those wearing warm, dry clothes!
Our second field trip takes us back to Buck Creek for an afternoon walk in the woods on Wednesday the 18th. We will be comparing the landscape of Rowena Plateau in the east gorge to the forest of Buck Creek in the west gorge. This is another potentially wet and cold field trip so let's hope our boots have dried before Wednesday!
This week also marks the end of the trimester. Progress reports will be sent home the week of the 30th.
I am looking forward to our week together!
