This morning we used hard-boiled eggs to help us study the layers of the Earth. The shell represented the crust; the skin was the lithosphere; the white was the mantle; and the yolk was the core with the brown outside of the yolk as the outer core and the yellow as the inner core. While the sizes of the egg layers weren't quite to scale for the Earth, we had fun labeling and discussing the layers.
