Our field trip last week to study geology was a big success. We stopped at a rock quarry and noticed a rock that didn't look like the others. At Rowena Crest we noticed a difference in the rocks between the Washington side and the Oregon side. On a short hike at Rowena Plateau we saw an unexpected lake in the middle of a prairie grassland. Our observations will come in handy as we study specific geology events that shape the land around us (particularly the land in the Gorge). In addition to a great group of students and chaperones, we really lucked out with a beautiful, sunny day!
