Week Review

Despite an early release on Monday and a snow day on Tuesday, we were able to accomplish quite a bit this week! Our country projects are looking fantastic! The creative writing pieces about culture and geological history of the countries are turning out fantastic. I can't wait to share the entire project at Portfolio Night in June. In the meantime, please ask your student about her/his country, its culture, the maps we have created, and the project in general.

We started 10,000 Page March this week. Everyone is very excited to take on the challenge.

Thanks to the amazing help of Megan, Ruby's mom, we are almost entirely finished with our mural pieces. They are truly beautiful! I will post students with their boards as soon as everyone has wrapped up with adding details. Installation will happen March 14 (delayed due to snow days).

For our Picasso art we started work on collage. Using the piece "Man with a Hat and Violin" as our inspiration, we made line drawings mixed with magazine cut-outs. We will continue our study of Picasso until spring break.

Here is Picasso's "Man with a Hat and Violin", 1912.
