A few details about important information sent home or decided this week:
Yesterday 5 papers were sent home, including two regarding book orders. Our books orders will now be done online through scholastic.com. If you did not receive the paper with instructions and information, please email me and I will send you the log-in information. The other paper sent home that needs to be returned is in regards to the cafeteria payment system. Students will have their thumbs scanned instead of using plastic cards, unless you decide to opt out of the scanning. Please return the purple sheet to let us know whether or not to scan your child's thumb.
Starting next week we will have weekly show and tell on Tuesdays during the morning meeting (8:00 am - 8:20 am). Students will be reminded of their week the Thursday prior to their day, as well as the day before. Due to health reasons, we can not have pets or live animals of any kind in the class. Pictures of pets are a great substitution. Students will have about 5 minutes to share what they have brought with the class.
Monday is picture day. Our picture slot is 2:00 pm. If you worry about spills before picture time, feel free to send an extra shirt with your child to be put on right before pictures. Picture orders and money will need to be sent on Monday as well.
Thanks to everyone who made it to Back to School night! I enjoyed meeting you all. I hope you had fun seeing a bit of your child's life in school.
I still have about 12 conferences yet to schedule so if you have not signed up please email me. Conferences will be held Tuesday the 27th and Wednesday the 28th of October. Specific times can be arranged through email.
