After learning about the formation and looking at some effects of glaciers, we made our own glaciers and valleys. Groups predicted the effects of the glaciers as the glaciers moved down the valley, then ran the experiment to see the results.

We watched a couple of very impressive videos on the internet about glaciers. Having been produced in the UK, the accent and pronunciation of glacier was different from what we are used to. Ask your student for the British pronunciation of glacier- it was a big hit in the classroom.
